Lines Bros marketed their ships under three brands. These were: Tri-ang, Scalex and Minic. The ships were sail powered, clockwork and latterly battery driven. They frequently survive fully operating, though a few plastic parts can be missing. The plastic used was predominently 'cellulose acetate' which is bright and shiny, but warps with age and exposure to heat.
